Review of Assassin’s Creed Rogue
Ubisoft Sofia published Assassin’s Creed Rogue, an action-adventure game. It is the seventh major installment of the Assassin’s Creed franchise, and takes place in the 1700s between the events at Syndicate and Revelations. It is the story of a renegade thief, who seeks to make a name for his self and sets out to find the Assassin responsible for the murdering his father.
Rogue lets you play the role of Shay Cormac, a newcomer in the Brotherhood of Assassins. He is unreliable and has an Irish accent, which causes him to be uncomfortable with the job of an Assassin. He eventually finds a new calling within the Templar Order. It is unique in that the story combines modern hacking and 18th-century gun–and-sword adventures. The main plot revolves around the idea that you can relive a previous life using an Animus, which is controlled by an evil Templar game company.
Although the plot is fascinating, the game’s gameplay is not perfect. Rogue portrays the Templars and Assassins as villains. Shay discovers a plot against Precursor technology and decides to join the Templar Order. The game is not without its problems but it’s still a great adventure.
