FFXIV Mentor system
Final Fantasy XIV Mentoring is a new system introduced with the release of the Heavensward expansion, and allows players to find veteran players who can help them out in the game. Mentors are experienced players who have earned a certain amount of fame, which they share with new players. In return, mentors get access to the game’s exclusive Novice Network, which is a chat system that is open to newcomers. Mentors can also change their character’s status to Mentor, and get a crown icon next to their names. Moreover, they can queue for Duties quickly with new players, and get a special bonus EXP from doing so.
After the patch 5.1 update, the requirements for becoming a mentor change slightly. You no longer need to complete a set of quests or collect special items to become a mentor. However, you do need to have at least one class and job at level 50 to become a mentor. Fortunately, there are ways to reach these requirements easily.
Once you become a full-fledged mentor, you’ll be able to use the new roulette feature. Completing mentor roulette will reward you with exclusive rewards and will also award you with a mount if you reach 2,000 completions. The goal of the FFXIV Mentor system is to help new players get through the game’s early stages.

The requirements for becoming a mentor have changed slightly. While the amount of player commendations required to be a mentor has decreased, the rest of the requirements have remained the same. Current mentors that meet the new requirements will need to renew their certification before the end of December. For this, they will need to visit a Smith in Gridania.

FFXIV Mentor system chat channel
The Final Fantasy XIV Mentor system is a colossal mistake. In reality, the Novice Network chat channel offers little assistance to Sprouts, is little more than a glorified general chat channel, and encourages cliques that abuse the ability to kick people from the game. There are a few requirements for participating in the Novice Network chat channel.
In order to use the Novice Network, you must first be a Mentor. Mentors are experienced gamers who are willing to help newbie players. If you’re a new player, however, it may not be obvious that you should use the Novice Network. To learn more, check out the Novice Network guide.
If you’re an experienced player, you can opt to leave the Novice Network. To do so, simply click on the Novice Network button at the bottom of the chat window. You’ll be prompted with feedback. Once you’ve completed this, you can move on to a different chat channel.
The Novice Network is for new players only, and is not designed for high level content. Mentors and new players will be able to discuss important information in this network. However, it is best to avoid any flaming and threatening behavior on the Novice Network. It’s not good for your soul to curse another player on the game. However, if you find someone acting abusively, you can report them to a Mentor for further investigation.
